The Hungarian Parliament has been home to the Hungarian Parliament for more than a hundred years, the legislature of the nation. The building giant, who has experienced happy and uplifting moments as well as centuries of stormy and tragic events, presents himself to the visitor in all its splendor.

From the 28 staircases in the House, the walk leads through the ornate gilded 17th city staircase to the most representative floor of the building, the main floor. The city corridor, lined with statues and colorful glass windows, is richly decorated with beautiful views of Kossuth Square, the main square of the Nation.

After that the visitor will be able to see the old meeting room, which today is the venue for conferences and meetings. The hall has excellent acoustics and a multi-storey gallery decorated with Slavonian oak cassettes and dense gilding. The seats are horseshoes. Along the foot of the horseshoe stands a huge oak chair and speaker platform. Behind the main wall are the painted coat of arms of Hungary's ruling families, while on both sides of the pedestal are wall paintings highlighting the historic role of the nobility. An eye-catching array of tables, benches and tables, featuring a row of soldiers in brown, green and red in seven rows.

Main House Lounge

Leaving the meeting room, we arrive at the main lobby lounge connected to the room. The pyrogranite sculptures, made in the Zsolnay factory in Pécs, which are innovative in its time, commemorate old Hungarian folk groups and crafts. The adornment of the room is Europe's largest hand-knotted rug, which glows in turquoise under our feet.

From here we take us to the domed hall, the geometric center of Hungary and the symbolic center of Hungary. Namely, since January 1, 2000, the Hungarian Holy Crown and the coronation badges, one of the oldest coronation ensembles in Europe, are guarded by the Honorary Crown guards 24 hours a day. The lowest level of the nearly 27-meter-high dome hall is decorated with a corridor. To this is connected the sixteen-pointed magnificent stellar vault with slender, colored glass windows between its branches. At the base of the bundles there are statues of Hungarian rulers on golden bases, under their gold bars, under golden bachachin.

Ceremonial Staircase

The visit to the Parliament is closed by the view of the ornamental staircase, which is considered to be the other jewel in the building. The red carpet, which dominates the square, has a 96-degree staircase leading from the main entrance to the dome hall. There are two larger and one smaller wall paintings on the ceiling of the main staircase, the work of the painter Károly Lotz. The room is decorated with eight granite columns weighing four tons each, of which there are 12 in the world. The decorative glass windows bordering the space on two sides are masterpieces of Miksa Róth's workshop.

The Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial site is situated on the Danube River in Budapest, Hungary near the Danube Promenade. The memorial site features 60 pairs of iron shoes and honours all the people who died at the hands of the fascist Arrow Cross militiamen during World War II.

On one of the most notable streets in Budapest, stands the well visited Heroes square. Commemorating the 1000th year of Hungarians being here, the monument represents knowledge, glory, work, welfare, war and peace and various notable historical characters adorn its niches. As the centrepiece, Archangel Gabriel stands atop a 36m Corinthian column, and somewhat more modestly, the 7 equestrian statues of the chiefs who originally led their tribes here.

Vajdahunyad Castle is a castle that was built in 1896, located in the City Park of Budapest, Hungary. The castle's elaborate design showcases the development of Hungarian architecture. The castle was built as part of the Millennial Exhibition which celebrated the 1000 years since the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin in 895.

Located on Dohány Street in Erzsébetváros, the 7th district of Budapest, the Dohány Street Synagogue, also known as the Great Synagogue or Tabakgasse Synagogue, is a historical edifice. The complex of the Dohány Street Synagogue comprises the Great Synagogue, the Heroes’ Temple, the graveyard, the Memorial, and the Jewish Museum, which was constructed on the site where Theodor Herzl’s birth house once stood. Today, the Dohány Street Synagogue stands as one of Budapest’s primary tourist attractions. It serves not only as a place of worship but also as a symbol of the city’s rich history and cultural heritage.

A mere half an hour’s journey due north of Budapest, Szentendre is a picture-perfect riverside town full of baroque architecture, cobblestoned streets and well-preserved, colourful houses. This attractive town serves as an ideal destination for a day trip from Hungary’s capital. There are several interesting museums on offer, and some magnificent churches, but the real attraction of this former artist colony lies in wandering around the quaint streets and stopping in at the many galleries, restaurants and shops that surround the town’s main square. Szentendre is the gateway to the Danube Bend, a popular river cruise destination, and - for tourists craving some exercise - the journey from Buddapest to Szentendre makes for an excellent cycling trip.

Located in northern Hungary, on the banks of the Danube River, the small picturesque castle town of Visegrad is best known as the ruin site of the Early Renaissance summer palace of King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary. The town also boasts a medieval 13th-century citadel, which offers spectacular views from high above a curve in the scenic river below.
