Overview

Introduction

Nothing will prepare you for the awesome power and spectacle that is Victoria Falls. It is the world's largest sheet of falling water. As one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls, and the Zambezi River which feeds the Falls are also the natural border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It goes by two official names; Victoria Falls and Mosi-oa-Tunya which translates as The Smoke that Thunders. Its spray can be seen 40kms away and the sound rumbles through the basalt cliffs of the gorge into which it plummets. Not only is it beautiful, it’s also the location of some of the most memorable experiences you’ll ever have.

+ Day 2

The next morning starts with a delicious breakfast before you head off on a guided walking tour of the majestic Victoria Falls. It’s an otherworldly experience with awe-inspiring views, double rainbows, cooling mists, spray laden flowers, ferns and trees that grow in this rain forest thanks to the abundantly water-laden atmosphere created by the thundering Falls. After shopping in the local market, you will return to the resort to relax before experiencing the Zambezi River in a more up-close and personal way – on board the African Queen for a 2-hour Sunset Cruise. As you float luxuriously along the Zambezi River, which is also the boundary of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, you will enjoy a fabulous feast of delicious snacks and drinks. The Zambezi River is a feast for your eyes and your soul. Elephant, drinking along the shore or even swimming across the river, hippo poking their eyes and snouts above the water to watch you pass by, crocodiles sunning themselves on sandbanks, not to mention antelope, buffalo, fish eagles with their echoing lament, an iconic sound of the rivers of Southern Africa, and stately giraffe. Once back at the resort, the evening is at your leisure.
