Shearwater On Sea resort

Day 1

Arrive at George Airport. Your Go Touch Down guide will meet you and transfer you to Shearwater On Sea in Sedgefield, a beautiful seaside village surrounded by lakes, the Swartvlei Estuary and the Indian Ocean. You will have time to unpack and go for a sunset stroll on the beach before dinner.

Tandem Paragliding

Day 2

After breakfast, we will depart for the paragliding launch site. Experience extreme tandem paragliding over the Indian Ocean. Depart for Kaaimans Gorge after lunch. Abseil the gorge next to the waterfall and land in a canoe. Return to Shearwater On Sea and head out for a fabulous dinner.

Day 3

Following breakfast we experience the thrill of shark cage diving in Mossel Bay. Step off the tour boat into a submersible cage for an up close encounter you will never forget. After lunch, try to tame the famous Dragon Dune, the largest sandboarding site in South Africa. Back to the resort to freshen up for dinner.

Knysna Sunset

Day 4

Begin with a casual breakfast at the coffee shop, then take advantage this morning of sun-swept Myoli Beach just steps from the resort. The beach is known for excellent watersports including kite surfing, stand up paddling and wake boarding. With expansive views, powder-soft sand and clear waters, you might just want to relax and soak up the sun before or after lunch. Enjoy a glass of wine and a few local oysters on a leisurely sunset cruise before dinner at the Knysna waterfront.

 

Crocodile Cage Diving

Day 5

After breakfast depart for Oudtshoorn, known as The Ostrich Capital of the World. Here, a knowledgeable and experienced guide will lead us through the Cango Caves, an awe-inspiring accumulation of the largest stalagmite formations in the world. Savor lunch at the famous Turtles Restaurant followed by crocodile cage diving at  Cango Wildlife Ranch. Return to Shearwater On Sea to freshen up before dinner.

Bungie Jumping

Day 6

In the morning depart towards Plettenberg Bay to the Tsitsikamma Forest Village and take the ultimate leap from the world’s highest commercial bungee jump. If that doesn’t get your pulse racing, this afternoon experience the thrill of tandem skydiving! Set out on a sunset safari in search of the Big 5 at the Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve. Return to Shearwater On Sea to chill out for dinner.

Storms River

Day 7

We get an early start to the day with breakfast en-route to Storms River in the heart of Tsitsikamma Forest Village. The river is ideal for today’s exciting and scenic black water tubing adventure, led by experienced guides. Lunch in quaint yet sophisticated George, the 6th oldest town in South Africa. Relax and savor the last night at Shearwater On Sea.

Day 8

Your final breakfast at Shearwater On Sea is served poolside under the South African sun. Take your time to enjoy your surroundings before transferring to Cape Town International Airport for your flight home. Alternatively, embark on a 7-day safari, an adventure that is a horse (or rather, zebra) of a different color.

Where you will be staying

You can hear the white-crested waves crashing on the shore from Shearwater On Sea, your home away from home. The nearby beach is called Myoli, which means “Place of Happiness” … a most appropriate name, as you will quickly come to learn.

Shearwater On Sea features a sparkling swimming pool with a convenient poolside restaurant, serving delicious breakfasts and casual daytime meals. Your 2-bedroom suite has an open plan living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a patio with a built-in braai (barbecue grill). The resort is perfectly positioned as your headquarters from which to embark on the sensational adventures ahead.

The serene Kaaimans Gorge holds one of the most beautiful abseil sights you will find. You have a chance to do two exhilarating 45m abseils right next to a magnificent waterfall. What also makes it even more special is that you land in a canoe at the bottom!

Oudtshoorn

You will spend an amazing day in this unique destination. Here you will take a guided underwater tour of Cango Caves, a magical wonder of nature. At Cango Wildlife Ranch, you will come nose-to-nose with an ancient predator… the crocodile! No worries, though – you will be safely ensconced in a crocodile-proof cage.

Tsitsikamma Suspension Bridge

The Khoisan people centuries ago named this verdant area Tsitsikamma, which in their language means “place of abundant water” after the many rivers running it through it. Your black water tubing adventure takes place on the scenic Storms River. You will also leap from the Bridge at Bloukrans River, the highest commercial bungee jump in the world.

Did you know? The cozy harbor town of Mossels Bay holds the Guinness World Record for the mildest year-round climate, second only to Hawaii. It’s in this seaside haven that you’ll have that very close encounter with the Great White Shark. We’ll also return for a scenic and thoroughly thrilling tandem sky dive over the bay and the mountains.
