The Stellenbosch Village Museum is comprised of four historically significant houses and their gardens. Each of these beautiful homes represents a different period in the architectural development of Stellenbosch. The houses, their interiors and their gardens have been wonderfully restored, furnished, planted and decorated to illustrate the particular style and taste of the time.
Big Cat Park
Meet lions, leopards, caracals and tigers without having to leave the beauty of the Stellenbosch winelands. The Big Cat Park, located on the Vredenheim Wine Estate, is a sanctuary for these beautiful creatures. During your visit you will be able to observe and photograph these majestic animals, enjoy their heartwarming and unique personalities, and learn about each species and their behaviors.
Cape Brandy and Chocolate Tasting
Located along the Stellenbosch Wine Route, Van Ryn’s Distillery is known as the world’s finest brandy maker. Here you will receive a friendly, unhurried and tranquil tour by knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. The tour ends with a tasting that includes three award-winning brandies paired with homemade Belgian chocolate and Brazilian coffee.
