Bill Harrop’s Original Hot Air Balloons

A most refined and genteel way to travel, Bill Harrop’s hot air balloons gently soar 2,100 feet above the Magaliesburg Valley. The award-winning company has been treating guests to this breathtaking sunrise experience for more than 30 years.  On a clear day, you’ll be able to see Johannesburg’s City Centre, the Hartbeespoort waterways and the Cradle of Humankind.

What activities are included

This early morning excursion includes transfers to and from Seasons Sport & Spa, pre-flight refreshments, an hour-long crewed hot air balloon flight, champagne, and a full breakfast.

Magalies River Valley Scenic Balloon Adventure

You will transfer to the Clubhouse Pavilion and Restaurant located in the valley at the Cradle of Humankind. Here you will have coffee and light bites before your balloon is launched. Get a unique perspective on the wildlife below as the sun casts its golden glow during your ascent. Take in the tranquility. Nothing can compare.

Enjoy freshly-brewed coffee, tea and muffins pre-flight as the crew prepares for your aeronautic adventure. After you land, savor a sumptuous champagne breakfast at the Clubhouse Pavilion and Restaurant.

Bill Harrop spared no expense when he built the elegant Clubhouse Pavilion and Restaurant. It is here you will chow down on a hearty homemade breakfast accompanied by fine French champagne. Try Bill’s Original Northumbrian Porridge – cooked oats “best served with a pinch of salt, a sprinkle of sugar, a dollop of cream and a dribble o’whisky stirred once and enjoyed immediately.”
